The ZOO ZDL0055/60 Series DIN dead lock is a robust mortice locking solution engineered for use on doors requiring secure key-operated deadbolt engagement. Manufactured with high-quality materials and precision-made components, this lock case is ideal for commercial, public, and residential doors where reliable mechanical security and fire door compatibility are required.

Design & Construction

• Centre distance: 72 mm (distance from spindle/follower centre to deadbolt centre).

• Backset options: Available in 55 mm (ZDL0055) and 60 mm (ZDL0060) backsets to suit a variety of door thicknesses and standard DIN lock preparations.

• Case size:

  • 55 mm backset: approx. 85 mm wide × 165 mm high.

  • 60 mm backset: approx. 90 mm wide × 165 mm high.

• Forend: 235 mm × 22 mm × 3 mm satin stainless steel forend and strike plate offer excellent corrosion resistance and durability.

• Bolt: SS304 double-throw deadbolt for secure engagement and increased resistance to forced entry.

• Follower: Grip-tight follower ensures consistent spindle engagement with minimal play.

• Forend profile options: Choose square or radius (rounded edge) profiles to complement architectural hardware aesthetics.

Performance & Standards

• Mechanical performance: Tested to BS EN 12209:2003 Grade 3, confirming strong mechanical durability and reliability under regular use.

• Fire testing: Successfully fire tested in accordance with BS EN 1634-1, and suitable for use on timber fire doors up to 120 min and steel fire doors up to 240 min when installed with appropriate intumescent protection.

• Certification: UKCA marked (Certificate AG7884), CE marked (Certificate AG5155), and Certifire approved (CF850) for assured performance in certified door systems.

Operation & Application

The ZDL0055/60 dead lock incorporates a double throw deadbolt, which is operated via a euro cylinder and requires two full turns of the key or thumbturn to fully engage or retract. Its design is suitable for doors where lever handles are paired with a separately supplied cylinder set and escutcheons, enabling coordinated door hardware solutions.
