ZOO ZDL7260ESCSS – DIN Escape Lock (72 mm Centres, 60 mm Backset)

The ZOO ZDL7260ESCSS is a robust DIN-standard escape lock case designed to provide secure latch and deadbolt performance while meeting emergency escape requirements for fire and exit doors. Engineered and factory-tested to recognised quality and safety standards, this lock is suitable for commercial, public, and residential applications where safe egress and reliable mechanical performance are required.

Design & Construction

• Centre distance: 72 mm c/c, compatible with standard DIN lever handle sets.

• Backset: 60 mm, making it suitable for common door preparations.

• Case size: Approx. 90 mm × 165 mm (W × H).

• Faceplate dimensions: 235 mm (L) × 22 mm (W) × 3 mm (thick) stainless steel.

• Latch and deadbolt: Grade 304 stainless steel, offering corrosion resistance and long-lasting performance.

• Anti-rattle strike and dust box included for secure, quiet operation.

• Unique spindle set: Enables setting of handing and function for versatile installation.

• Foreend profile options: Available in square (ZDL7260ESCSS) or radius profile (ZDL7260ESCRSS) to suit different design preferences.

Function & Use

The ZDL7260ESCSS is designed primarily for escape door applications where secure lock-in access control is required, but unobstructed exit from the inside must be maintained — for example on fire exit routes, flat entrance doors, and other egress-critical doors. With the correct handle set, this lock enables the internal handle to retract the latch and allow exit at all times without a key, in accordance with BS EN 179 emergency exit provisions.

• BS EN 179:2008 – Suitable for emergency exit hardware applications.

• BS EN 12209:2003 Grade 3 – Tested for mechanical performance and durability.

• Fire performance: Successfully FD 30/60 timber door tested, with applicable certification for use on fire doors when installed with appropriate intumescent protection.

• Certifire approved – CF850 and 10-year mechanical guarantee reflect quality and long-term reliability.

Compatibility & Installation

• Non-handed design: Can be set for left or right hung doors using the unique spindle arrangement.
